From 2 April 2025, Parent visa applicants will have access to a helpful new feature introduced by the Department of Home Affairs. While the application process for Parent visas still requires a paper form, you will now be able to connect your acknowledged application to your ImmiAccount.

This digital upgrade allows applicants to easily manage their applications online after submission. Once your paper application has been acknowledged, you can import it into your ImmiAccount to:

  • Upload extra documents
  • View any messages or updates from the Department
  • Update personal or contact information
  • Check your application status

Who is eligible to use this feature?

This functionality is available for both recent and previously submitted Parent visa applications. However, if you applied for a Parent (subclass 103) visa before November 2018, you won’t be able to use this feature.

Steps to import your application into ImmiAccount

After receiving your acknowledgment letter, here’s how you can import your application into your ImmiAccount:

  1. Create or log into your ImmiAccount

If you don’t already have one, set up an ImmiAccount. If you do, simply log in.

  1. Import your application details

Once logged in, enter the following:

    • Your Application ID
    • Your date of birth
    • Your identity document number (such as a passport or ImmiCard)
  1. Start managing your application online

After the application is successfully linked, you can manage documents, apply for a Bridging Visa, update your information, and more, all in one place.
