Demystifying the Vetassess Skills Assessment: Everything You Need to Know

For anyone looking to migrate to Australia, the Vetassess Skills Assessment is a crucial step in determining your eligibility for skilled migration. But with its complex procedures and requirements, it can be a daunting task to navigate. Fear not, as this guide is here to demystify the Vetassess Skills Assessment and provide you with everything you need to know.

From understanding the different assessment types and their corresponding requirements, to preparing the necessary documents and evidence, we’ve got you covered.

Whether you’re a skilled professional looking to kickstart your career in Australia, or an employer seeking to sponsor workers from overseas, this guide will provide you with the essential information and tips to help you succeed. So let’s dive in and discover the secrets to acing the Vetassess Skills Assessment!

What is VETASSESS in Australia?

VetAssess is one skills assessment body that screens skilled migrants during the processing of their Australian Skilled Visa Application. The Department of Home Affairs Australia issues this visa as a part of their General Skilled Migration visa program.

Anyone who’s migrating to Australia needs to pass the assessment test if he’s looking for skilled workers. Once you are done with your assessment, the results will be furthered to a professional agency in context with your chosen occupation.

Some things to keep in mind about your Vetassess assessment are:

1. Be aware of your occupation and job description

It is important to be aware of the occupations which are eligible for visas like 190 visas, 491 visas, 189 Visa, 482 Visa, 186 Visa, 187 Visa, and 494 Visa, etc.

It is the responsibility of the visa applicant to make sure that the occupation they are getting skill assessment in is eligible for a provisional employer-sponsored or permanent residency visa.

VETASSESS Skills Assessment for Migration

Vetasses assesses two types of occupations:

  • Skill Assessment for Professional Occupations: As part of the skill assessment for migration purposes, vetassess assesses 360 professional occupations. The list of these occupations has been discussed below into categories of A to F.
  • Skill Assessment for Trade occupations: As part of the skill assessment for migration purposes, VETASSESS assesses 28 trade occupations. The list of these occupations has been discussed below.

2. No requirement of English Language

Most job applications and certifications in Australia demand evidence of English Language fluency.

However, the case is the opposite of the VetAssess assessment. The skilled labor visa process is for all people wanting to shift to Australia from across the world. That might require you to need some proficiency in the English Language. Your employer might choose to use your native language in the office for communication.

Even though VetAssess does not demand English Language proficiency, you’ll still require training and certifications to proceed with your skills assessment. It is important to note that to file a visa application, you need to provide your language test.

3. Have your required documents ready

Vet Assess requires you to provide evidence of your documentation. There are three types of documents that will be demanded when heading on to your skills assessment.

The first set involves your identity documents. That includes your current copy of your passport and a passport-sized photograph with measurements of 35 mm by 45mm.

In the next set, you’ll need to provide your qualification proof. Vet Assess analyses your education certificate and your academic transcript as acceptable forms of evidence.

In the final set, Vetassess will demand documents to authenticate your work experience. Alongside, you will need to submit an updated CV. In addition to your resume, Vetassess accepts Statements of Service from former employers and previous contracts of employment.

A DETAILED LIST HAS BEEN DISCUSSED BELOW

  1. Become aware of your VetAssess groups

The Vetassess process divides occupations into six distinct skill level groups. The groups are alphabetically named from A to F. Each skill group relates to an ANZSCO skill level.
