TRA offers a variety of skills assessment programs depending on a varied factors of the migrant like occupation, country of passport, country of education, and the visa type one is aspiring for.
Job Ready Program of TRA
The TRA Job Ready Program (JRP) is an employment-based skills assessment program that is valid for applicants who have secured their academic qualifications in Australia and further seek a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) or a GSM visa (subclass 491/190/189). This program allows the applicants to acquire a skill-set and earn employment experience in the Australian market before applying to the Department of Home Affairs for a skills migration visa.
This program is completed in four steps:
Step 1- Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA)
The applicant needs to complete 360 hours of training in the workplace before applying. The cost is AUD 300.
Step 2- Job Ready Program (JRE)
The applicant needs to complete 1725 hours of training in the workplace. The cost is AUD 500.
Step 3- Job Ready Workplace Assessment (JRWA)
The applicant needs to complete 863 hours of training spanning six months from the start date of JRE. The cost is AUD 2,000.
Step 4- Job Ready Final Assessment (JRFA)
The applicant needs to complete 1725 hours of training spanning twelve months from the start date of JRE. The cost is AUD150.
TSS Skills Assessment Program of Trades Recognition Australia
This is a skill assessment program is for applicants who need a skills assessment to become eligible for Temporary Skills Shortage Visa (subclass 482) before applying to the Department of Home Affairs. This program offers two pathways:
- Pathway 1
This is for applicants who do not possess Australian education in their trade. - Pathway 2
This is for applicants who do possess Australian education in their trade.
Offshore Skills Assessment of TRA
This program is for applicants who need skills assessment to become eligible to apply for a skilled migration visa through the Department of Home Affairs.
Migration Skills Assessment of TRA
This program is for applicants who require skills assessment to become eligible to apply for a skilled migration visa through the Department of Home Affairs.
Migration Points Advice of TRA
This program is for applicants with a favorable outcome in Trades Recognition Australia Skills Assessment who are applying for a points-tested, independent skilled migration program through the Department of Home Affairs.
Eligibility Requirement for TRA
The applicant must fulfil criteria in at least one stream of TRA assessment programs.
Requirements for Job Ready Program
The applicant must finish an Australian qualification directly corresponding to the occupation on the Medium and Long Term Skills Shortage list, as a primary student visa holder.
The applicant must either complete a minimum of 360 hours of employment and/or a vocational placement, in the context of his qualification and occupation, in the Australian market, and this must be completed immediately within three years prior to the applicant’s JRP applications submission.
Requirements of TSS Skills Assessment Program
The applicant must provide proof of acquired skills and experience like providing training documents, proof of employment, and employment statements.
If your license requires no formal training, then 6 years of experience. If your license requires formal training, then 4 years of experience. A non-licensed trade without any formal training requirement needs 5 years of experience. While a non-licensed trade any formal training requirement needs 3 years of experience.
