Onshore applicants who are seeking to get a nomination from Victoria for a 491 visa, have good news for them.

On 28th March 2023, the Victorian government relaxed the eligibility criteria for Victoria’s Subclass 491 Skilled Work Regional Visa Program. The new Victoria’s 491 nomination is now open to candidates who are living in metropolitan Melbourne and who are ready to relocate and move to a designated regional area of Victoria.

Before this announcement by the Victorian government, applicants from metropolitan Melbourne were ineligible for Victoria’s 491 Visa nomination.

Steps of Victoria Subclass 491 Visa Nomination 2023

There are 4 steps in Victoria 491 Visa nomination:

  1. A Victoria 491 Visa nomination candidate needs to first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) at the Australian government’s Department of Home Affairs website.
  2. The Victoria 491 Visa nomination candidate then needs to submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) for 491 nominations on the Victorian government’s Live in Melbourne website portal.
  3. The Victorian government will then send you an invitation on the Live in Melbourne website if your Victorian 491 Visa nomination is selected.
  4. You then apply for the subclass 491 Visa after your 491 Nomination is approved.
