TEMPORARY SKILL SHORTAGE VISA SUBCLASS 482 (TSS)

Subclass 482 visa is also known as Temporary Skill Shortage or TSS Visa.

Visa 482 is a temporary visa that lets an employer sponsor a skilled worker when an Australian worker is unavailable.

Subclass 482 is divided into 3 streams:

2. TSS Visa 482 Medium Term Stream
3. TSS Visa 482 Labour Agreement Stream

TSS Visa Subclass 482 in Short-Term Stream

Eligibility Criteria of Subclass 482 Visa Short-term stream:

1. If an applicant is onshore, they should be holding a substantive visa or BVA, BVB, or BVC.
2. Applicants must have complied with their previous visa conditions.
3. Applicant’s occupation must be in the short-term occupation list.
4. Applicant must have a positive skill assessment if it is required for their occupation and not exempted.
5. Applicant must be nominated by an approved Standard Business Sponsor.
6. Applicant of a 482 visa in the short-term stream must have at least 2 years’ experience in their nominated occupation.
7. Applicant must have adequate health insurance.
8. Applicant must meet the character requirement.
9. Unless exempted, applicants must satisfy English proficiency requirements.
10. Applicant must be a Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE).
11. Applicant must not have paid for sponsorship.
12. Applicant must not have any debt to the Australian government or should plan about it.

There is no age restriction for an applicant applying for a subclass 482 visa in the Short-term stream.

• Maximum 4 years in some ITO cases.
