VETASSESS, an independent skills assessment provider, has entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to collaborate on skills harmonization and workforce mobility between Australia and India.

The agreement aims to facilitate the movement of Indian workers to Australia to address labor shortages in industries such as aged care, horticulture, and automotive.

VETASSESS will conduct skills assessments for candidates from India to ensure they meet the requirements of Australian industries.

The CII, an industry-led organization, will assist in providing training and assessment to Australian standards. VETASSESS Executive Director Rob Thomason highlighted the importance of migration in Australia’s prosperity and expressed optimism about India’s potential as a leading supplier of talent to Australian industries.

The Australian Government has also launched an Aged Care Industry Labour Agreement to address labor shortages in the aged care sector by allowing Australian employers to sponsor overseas workers as temporary migrants.
