What is an ImmiAccount?

An immiaccount is a webpage and visa portal created by the Department of Home Affairs, an Australian government department. It allows applicants or migration agents to lodge visa applications for themselves or clients.

How can I create an ImmiAccount?

Step 1: Search Google for ImmiAccount.

Step 2: To create an ImmiAccount, click the Department of Home Affairs link to register your email.

Step 3: Once you click on Register to create ImmiAccount, you will be taken to a page to create your immi account.

The following details must be completed in this step at immi login.

New User Details

  • Family name
  • Given names
  • Phone
  • Mobile phone
  • Specify an email address for account notifications- such as password resets.
  • This should be an address where you can only read the emails rather than a group email address.
  • Email address
  • Confirm email address

There are two types of ImmiAccount;

  1. Individual: This account allows applicants or their friends and family to lodge an Australian visa application.
  2. Organisation: This account is for an organization, a registered migration agent, and a sponsoring company.

In creating an ImmiAccount, Step 2, the following details need to be completed at immi login:

  • Username
  • New Password
  • Re-type new password (Password must contain 14 characters including lower case characters, upper case characters, digits and punctuation, and special characters).
  • Secret questions and answers (Note: you will need to remember the exact answers to these questions if you forget your password)

What is ImmiAccount used for?

Immi Account is used for the following purposes:

  1. Apply for a visa, such as a visitor visa, student visa, 485 visa, partner visa, resident return visa, training visa, 491 visa, or 870 visa.
  2. An applicant for an Australian visa can also use an immi account to upload supporting documents such as a passport, national ID, pay slips, bank statements, CA report, police checks, invitation letters, PTE result, IELTS result, skilled assessment letter, etc. and other documents relevant to the visa you are applying for.
  3. Immi Account is also used for visa fees. You can use immi login to pay visa fees for paper visa applications that cannot be lodged through an Immi Account. Secondary installments of the visa are paid through immi account. Most cards like Visa, master card, American Express, debit cards, and credit cards have a surcharge fee. Visa fees can also be paid using BPAY through an IMI account but should not be used if you are applying for a visa at the last minute. This is because BPAY payments take longer, unlike credit and debit cards used for instant payment of visa fees.
  4. Visa applications can be managed and withdrawn using the IMMI Account by logging through immiaccount login.
  5. The IMMI Account is also used to communicate with the Department of Home Affairs for the visa application that has been lodged.
  6. To check the messages the Department of Home Affairs sent, an applicant can use an immiaccount login.
  7. immiaccount login is also used to see if the Department has refused or granted a visa. The Department of Home Affairs also sends notices to respond to requests for different documents or information from the visa applicant.
  8. If a visa applicant wants to upload any documents after applying, they can use an immiaccount login.
  9. Visa applicants can change their address, phone number, and other personal details through Immi login by clicking Update Personal Details.

How can I change my ImmiAccount password?

  • You can click Manage Account, choose a password, and enter your existing password. Finally, you enter a new password twice using 14 characters, including lower-case and upper-case characters, digits and punctuation, and special characters.
  • You then click SAVE.
  • You then click Yes to make changes.

How can I change my email address in ImmiAccount?

  • Click on Account Details
  • Then insert a new email address.
  • Then click on SAVE.
  • Then click Yes to make changes.

How do I make changes to Secret Questions in the IMMI account?

  • First, select Secret Questions.
  • Then enter your existing password.
  • Then select the new secret question and insert the new answer.
  • Then click on SAVE.
  • Then click on Yes to make changes.

What should I do if I forget my password or username for ImmiAccount?
