1. Before Applying for a Partner Visa
What visa can I apply for?
The right visa depends on your relationship status and location. The most common options include:

2. After Applying
How long will my application take?
Processing times may change depending on the visa subclass and your circumstances. You can contact us to discuss your case and better understand the expected timeline.
Can I get updates on my application progress?
You can check your status via your ImmiAccount. The Department does not provide updates on individual applications via email or phone.
Can my application be prioritized?
Priority may be considered in exceptional cases involving compelling and compassionate circumstances. Submit all required documents and complete the Partner Processing Enquiry Form to request priority processing.
I’m having issues with ImmiAccount. Where can I get help?

How do I withdraw my application?
You must upload or email a signed consent form. If you’re applying for a combined Partner visa (820/801 or 309/100), both applicants must provide consent to withdraw.
Can I get a refund of the VAC (Visa Application Charge)?
Refunds are only available in specific circumstances. You can contact us to assess your eligibility for a refund based on your situation.
My visa was refused. Can I apply for a review?
If your refusal is eligible for review, the notification letter will include instructions on appealing to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).
3. Health Examinations
When should I complete my medical exam?
After submitting your visa application, you can arrange your health examination.
My health check has expired. Do I need a new one?
Health exam results are typically valid for 12 months. If asked to sign a health undertaking, the results are valid for 6 months. If your medical results expire during the process, you may be asked to complete them again.
4. Documents
How do I upload documents to my application?
Log into your ImmiAccount and go to the ‘Attach documents’ section. Ensure all necessary documentation, including health and police checks, are uploaded promptly.
What documents are required?
Document requirements vary based on the visa subclass. Contact us for guidance on the documents you need to prepare for your application.
I need more time to provide documents. What can I do?
Submit a request via the Partner Processing Enquiry Form before your original deadline. Include evidence such as receipts or booking confirmations to support your request.
5. Changes in Circumstances
My details have changed. What now?
Update any changes, such as your passport, contact details, or address, through ImmiAccount.
My relationship has ended or changed. What should I do?
Log into ImmiAccount and complete the Notification of Relationship Cessation form. Contact us for advice tailored to your situation and assistance with the next steps.
What if my sponsor has died?
Notify the Department using the Notification of Relationship Cessation form in ImmiAccount or contact them directly through the inquiry form.
Can I add my child to my application?
Yes, you can. Book an appointment with us to understand the process and receive assistance with adding your child to your visa application.

6. Sponsors
How do I withdraw my sponsorship?

Do I need a police check?

7. For Subclass 820 and 309 Visa Holders
When can I apply for my permanent Partner visa?
After two years, you may become eligible for Subclass 801 (onshore) or Subclass 100 (offshore).
My permanent visa was refused. Do I still hold a temporary visa?
If your Subclass 801 or 100 visa is refused, you no longer hold a temporary Partner visa. Use VEVO to confirm your current visa status.
How do I include my child in my permanent visa?
You can apply for a Subclass 445 Dependent Child visa. Once granted, we can assist you in including them in your existing Partner visa application.
8. Travelling In and Out of Australia
Can I travel while my partner’s visa is being processed?
